About the Author

Hi, I'm Brit! I'm a writer from Phoenix, AZ who loves coffee, golden retriever puppies, and obviously, travel! I help ordinary women (like me!) dream, plan, and do extraordinary travel experiences.

  • This is extremely convenient because I was just looking into a trip to KC! I’ve stayed at the 21c Museum Hotel in OKC and NWA (Bentonville I think??) and I had a fantastic time! Would love to stay at the KC location too!

  • Looks like a great selection of hotel properties in Kansas City. I personally would love to stay at the Westin. I like being able to stay close to things and enjoy a quality hotel. The Westin hotel chain also tends to be reliable. This one is especially nice being near Union Station, the National WWI Museum & Memorial, and the Money Museum.

  • I was actually in KC last month for the Women in Travel Summit, and this is spot on! I went to the Crossroads Hotel rooftop bar with a few blogging girls and it was so much fun, the hotel is super cute too. We also had the opening party at Hotel Kansas City. The conference was in the Marriott Hotel where most of us stayed and there was that bridge that connected the two buildings. I got lost there a few times!
I had a great time at KC and I actually love it there.

    • Yay, that’s awesome! I’m so glad you loved the hotels on this list and got to explore quite a few of them during your trip. Kansas City is such a cool place and they have tons of awesome hotels!

  • Actually live near Kansas City and I’m definitely going to check out the Hotel Kansas City. Gorgeous! I think I’ll pair it with a day at the Nelson Atkins museum!

  • My goodness, I never thought I’d find myself wanting to visit Kansas! Those hotel recommendations are amazing. The 21mc Museum Hotel is divine! Every hotel afterward makes me just want to go visit this beautiful city. Thank you for showing me how gorgeous Kansas City is with just hotels.

  • I would definitely stay at the vintage chic boutique hotel. Kansas City looks amazing. There is so much to do. I had no idea.

  • Great selections of hotel options. You have stated some of my favourite hotel brands. I like IHG, so I would stay in Indigo. I have yet to visit Kansas City, hopefully will do it soon.

  • These hotels all look quite impressive although the 21c Museum Hotel caught my eye. I have stayed in hotels that focussed on art (some by a single artist) and I have always found a calm about them that is very refreshing. Guess where I would stay.

    • Isn’t it such a cool concept? I didn’t get to stay there during my trip to Kansas City, but I know they have locations across the country, so I’d love to check one out in another location!

  • Looks like some beautiful places to stay! The Westin Kansas City at Crown Center definitely caught my eye – that pool looks amazing!

  • Some great suggestions for hotels here. I’m not a fan of the chain hotels but I’ve noted the names of the boutique ones as there may be a trip for me to Kansas City in the not so distant future.

  • Oof, each of these looks better than the last! But if I had to, I think I’d pick 21c Museum Hotel Kansas City and Crossroads Hotel. Such gorgeous interiors and your description sounds beautiful as well – thanks for sharing 🙂

  • I’m all about the luxury hotel experience. Great inspiration here- Loews is my go-to for uber décor, but the Fontaine in KC would change my mind.

  • These are great recommendations! We live in Tulsa and have been wanting to come do a weekend in Kansas City. Thanks for the great ideas. We will for sure be using your article as a guide.
