Planning a trip to Nashville, and looking for all the best places to grab breakfast and coffee during a fun trip to Music City? If so, you’ve definitely come to the right place!
At this point, I think visiting Nashville and getting brunch are two of my favorite pastimes (haha). All jokes aside… Nashville feels like my second home. I have family in Nashville, so over the past five years, I’ve visited at least five times! And, as a former barista, visiting local coffee shops is one of my favorite things to do when I travel, so at this point, I think I’ve managed to get a pretty good inside scoop on all the best coffee shops and brunch spots in Nashville.
That said, Nashville is a big city, so there are several popular brunch spots and coffee shops in Nashville that haven’t made my list (don’t worry… I try to make it to a couple of new places each time I visit!). However, after all my trips, I can confidently say these following spots are great choices for brunch in Nashville!

Best Coffee Shops in Nashville
1. Frothy Monkey
- Location: Downtown Nashville, 12 South, East Nashville & Franklin
- What to Order: Havana Latte
Frothy Monkey is a super popular local chain for coffee and breakfast in Nashville. However, since this spot is first and foremost a coffee roaster, I placed it in the coffee shop category!
I’ve been to Frothy Monkey a couple of times during my trips to Nashville and had a great experience each time. I’ve always stopped in at the location at 12 South, and although it’s always busy, it still maintains a laid-back “cafe” vibe. My favorite drink is the Havana Latte (it’s kind of like a Cuban latte with a twist!), and the Bacon, Egg & Cheddar Bagel is great too, though I’d like to try the Vanilla Cinnamon French Toast the next time I’m there (mmmm!).
2. Dose
- Location: West Nashville, East Nashville & Old Hickory
- What to Order: The Barcelona + Scones
I actually stumbled upon Dose by accident, but I’m so glad I did. It has quickly become one of my favorite coffee shops in Nashville! I went to the location in Old Hickory while staying in a vacation rental nearby — I was looking for a coffee shop that wasn’t too far away, found Dose, and was literally so surprised by how delicious it was!
While you’re at Dose, you have to try The Barcelona: draft iced coffee topped with soft, salted whipped cream (it’s like cold foam, but better!). Although the bagel sandwich we ordered was delicious (and they have a full menu of breakfast items!), I remember the house-made scone being our favorite. The ambiance at this particular location was also so cozy, with a fireplace crackling and plenty of comfortable furniture to sit on. Definitely give Dose a try during your trip to Nashville!
3. Flora + Fauna Cafe and Roaster
- Location: East Nashville
- What to Order: Calabaza Latte
Flora + Fauna Cafe and Roaster was one of the coffee shops I tried on my most recent trip to Nashville, and I was super impressed with the quality of the coffee. This spot has a bright, inviting atmosphere and is locally owned and operated, which I love!
During this trip, I visited Nashville in the fall, so I was able to try the Calabaza Latte, a Mexican candied pumpkin latte with raw sugar, spices, and orange zest topped with pink salt (any salted coffee is an automatic yes from me!). I ordered it iced, but I would have loved to try it hot… I think it would have been even better! This coffee shop also has a breakfast menu that looks great. The pumpkin pancakes looked amazing, and I think they would have been the perfect complement to my latte. Next time!
4. Poindexter Coffee
- Location: Midtown Nashville
- What to Order: Caramel Latte
If you’re visiting Nashville for a bachelorette party or a girls’ trip, I think visiting Poindexter Coffee at Graduate by Hilton Nashville is a must! This adorable coffee shop is located in the lobby of a super cute hotel that has a trendy rooftop bar, different shades of pink everywhere, and vibrant retro-inspired decor that pays homage to the queen herself: Dolly Parton!
Though I haven’t stayed at this hotel (yet!), I have visited Poindexter Coffee many, many times and always recommend it to my friends and family visiting Nashville. The coffee is excellent, and the shop offers a limited breakfast menu if you’re looking for something to eat. Often, local musicians will perform in the lobby, so you’ll be able to enjoy the talented up-and-coming artists in Nashville while sipping on your latte. If you’re looking for an Instagrammable coffee shop in Nashville that also has great coffee, Poindexter Coffee is the place to visit!
5. The Well Coffeehouse
- Location: Music Row, Green Hills, Brentwood, Franklin & Bellevue
- What to Order: Cuban
The Well Coffeehouse is another popular coffee chain in Nashville that is a fantastic spot to visit for delicious coffee and breakfast. Plus, you can feel good about supporting a great cause: The Well uses its profits to fund clean-water wells around the globe!
I’ve been to The Well on several occasions because I know one of the baristas. The location I visit is super warm and welcoming, with a community vibe that reminds me of one of my favorite coffee shops back home in Phoenix! My favorite coffee to order is the Cuban, and the food is excellent — I personally recommend the paninis.
Tip by Brit: The Well Coffeehouse is currently undergoing a rebrand, so the new logo and brand colors might look a little different during your trip than in my photos from my last visit!
6. Crema Coffee Roasters
- Location: Downtown Nashville, East Nashville & Brentwood
- What to Order: Vanilla Latte
Crema Coffee Roasters is an excellent spot for locally-roasted coffee in Nashville. The vibe of the location we visited (Downtown Nashville) is minimalist and industrial-chic, with a lovely patio, perfect for a warm, sunny day. The menu isn’t huge, but you can definitely taste that everything is high quality, which I appreciate!
I’m a sucker for housemade syrups, so of course, I had to try the Vanilla Latte with housemade vanilla (it was amazing!). The granola with yogurt was also one of the best yogurt bowls I’ve had from a coffee shop! My husband ordered the tartine with fresh berries and ricotta and loved it. I’d say Crema is a great coffee shop to visit in Nashville if you’re looking for excellent coffee and a light breakfast made with top-quality ingredients!
7. Neighborlily
- Location: Germantown
- What to Order: Hey Neighbor Latte
Neighborlily is a super bright, vibrant, and cute coffee shop in Nashville that also doubles as a flower bar, so the entire space is filled with florals and bouquets to purchase. It’s beautiful, and the coffee is fantastic too! The shop offers a couple of food options, but the highlight here is definitely the coffee and atmosphere.
Neighborlily is in Germantown, a charming Nashville neighborhood slightly west of Broadway, where several businesses and restaurants are housed in renovated historic homes. There is some seating available inside, but personally, I think the outdoor deck is the best spot to sit!
Tip by Brit: As of December 2025, Neighborlily is undergoing renovations to revamp its space and is temporarily closed. Check the website for more details and updated hours. I hope it’s open soon, so you can experience this adorable coffee shop during your trip to Nashville!
8. Hank’s Coffee Station
- Location: Franklin
- What to Order: Fleur de Salted Caramel Latte
Okay, full disclosure — Hank’s Coffee Station isn’t actually in Nashville. It’s located about 30 minutes from Nashville in a town called Franklin (one of my favorite day trips from Nashville!). However, it’s definitely worth the drive. I think Hank’s has my favorite coffee in the entire city!
Hank’s Coffee Station is a family-owned business owned by a young family of four and named after their pup, Hank. This coffee shop has it all: a great atmosphere, handcrafted coffee, made-from-scratch pastries, and friendly service. I had such a hard time choosing between their signature drinks (all of them sounded so good!), but the Salted Caramel Latte did not disappoint!
Best Breakfast & Brunch Spots in Nashville
9. SweetMilk
- Location: Donelson
- What to Order: Nonie Sue’s Table
Recently opened in 2023, SweetMilk is one of the newer restaurants on Nashville’s brunch scene (but one that you definitely won’t want to miss!). This is the perfect place to grab brunch before spending a day exploring the Grand Ole Opry and Gaylord Opryland Resort — it’s only a 10-minute drive from both these iconic Nashville attractions!
The first thing I love about SweetMilk is how bright it is — the space has tons of windows! It’s a pretty large building, so there are tons of tables, as well as a “breakfast bar” where you can sit and order drinks served in mason jars, like mimosas (the blueberry-lemon mimosa is delicious!).
I was craving something light, so I ordered the Granola Bowl, which was great. But everyone else said the biscuits are incredible, so now I kind of have regrets about my order — I guess I’ll just have to go back and snag a biscuit next time I’m in Nashville!
10. Biscuit Love
- Location: The Gulch, Hillsboro Village & Franklin
- What to Order: Bonuts + Biscuit Sandwiches
Speaking of biscuits… there’s a brunch spot in Nashville that literally specializes in them: Biscuit Love! It’s hard to choose, but Biscuit Love is probably my favorite place for brunch in Nashville. It’s definitely the spot I’ve been to the most… I’ve been to every location at this point, and we try to go every time we are in Nashville!
While the biscuit sandwiches are incredible (the East Nasty and Princess are my favorites!), the thing you have to get at Biscuit Love is the Bonuts… sugar-dusted donuts made from biscuit dough, topped with lemon mascarpone and served with berry compote. It’s like dessert for breakfast! Be sure to grab a housemade latte too (an iced caramel latte is my go-to).
Tip by Brit: The sandwiches are pretty filling, so if you’re traveling with someone, I recommend splitting one biscuit sandwich and an order of bonuts (you’ll thank me later!).
11. Perenn
- Location: Berry Hill & Franklin
- What to Order: Breakfast Sandwich + Pastries
Perenn is a brand-new coffee shop, restaurant, and bakery in Nashville and Franklin that literally just opened this past summer of 2025. I had the chance to visit the restaurant in Franklin during my last trip to Nashville in October, and wow, I was so impressed! We will definitely be back.
This European-inspired bakery hands-down wins my vote for best pastries in Nashville. The croissant I had, filled with a rich vanilla cream, was truly one of the best pastries I’ve ever eaten! And while you can stop in for just coffee and pastries, we also had a sit-down breakfast and loved the Traditional Breakfast and Breakfast Sandwich (on a croissant… and add sausage and bacon jam!).
Tip by Brit: The Berry Hill location serves a limited menu (coffee, pastries, and light breakfast), so if you want a sit-down breakfast experience, be sure to visit the restaurant in Franklin! However, if you do want to sit down for breakfast at the Franklin location, grab reservations… tables fill up quickly.
12. Milk & Honey
- Location: The Gulch
- What to Order: Farmhouse Biscuit
Milk & Honey is, without a doubt, one of the most popular brunch spots in Nashville (that said, you’re going to need reservations or should be prepared to wait, especially on the weekends!).
So far, I have only been to Milk & Honey once, but I had a great experience! The service was attentive and friendly, and the food was good too. I would say out of all the brunch spots in Nashville that I’ve listed so far, this is the place to go for generous portions — it’s like classic Southern food meets a trendy brunch atmosphere (pretty much the perfect spot for a bachelorette party or girls’ trip to Nashville!).
Milk & Honey also has a full coffee bar and a traditional bar serving breakfast drinks. I forgot to take pictures here (whoops!), so that means the food must have been good!
13. Ladybird Taco
- Location: 12 South, East Nashville & The Gulch
- What to Order: Breakfast Tacos & The Carmadillo Latte
Did someone say breakfast tacos and coffee? Sign me up! But seriously… ever since we discovered Ladybird Taco, it has become a staple on our trips to Nashville. The service is quick, the food is tasty, and honestly, the Carmadillo Latte (a house-made salted caramel latte) is one of my favorite coffees in Nashville!
I love both the breakfast tacos and lunch tacos at Ladybird Taco. My favorite breakfast taco is the one with bacon, egg, and Monterey Jack (#1), and for lunch, the tacos with Roja pork, refried beans, Monterey Jack, green onions, and cabbage (#12) are my favorite. Ladybird’s tacos are between “regular” and “street taco” size, so I generally find that two tacos is a good amount for me!
14. Proper Bagel
- Location: Belmont
- What to Order: New Yorker
If there’s something you need to know about me, it’s that I’m a sucker for a good bagel (I’ve literally been making my own sourdough bagels at home so we can have bagel sandwiches for breakfast… with the good bagels). All that to say… if you share my love of bagels, you’re going to love Proper Bagel in Nashville… a family-owned, from-scratch bagel eatery that hails from New York!
The hardest part about eating a Proper Bagel is deciding which bagel to try (from plain and sourdough to cinnamon crunch and sesame… they’ve got it all!). If you want a little protein, be sure to turn your bagel into a sandwich (I loved the New Yorker!). And if the bagels weren’t enough, the atmosphere is great too. Grab a table inside, or sit out on the patio. 10/10 recommend Proper Bagel — I’m excited to go back on my next trip to Nashville!
15. Five Daughters Bakery
- Location: Downtown Nashville, 12 South, The Gulch, West Nashville & Franklin
- What to Order: 100 Layer Donuts
If you have a sweet tooth in the mornings, Five Daughters Bakery should definitely be on your list of breakfast spots to try in Nashville. This local family-owned bakery chain specializes in donuts and is known for its 100 Layer Donuts (think about a flaky croissant meeting a doughy donut… yum!). The Purist, Chocolate Sea Salt, and Vanilla Cream are all amazing (yes, yes… I have tried them all!).
However, if you want to shake it up, Five Daughters Bakery also serves yeast donuts (the Boston Cream is my favorite!), and a couple of savory breakfast options, like biscuit sandwiches with egg, sausage, and bacon. It’s not difficult to find a Five Daughters Bakery in most popular locations in Nashville, so be sure to stop by at some point during your trip, whether for breakfast or a sweet treat in the afternoon!
16. Puckett’s Restaurant
- Location: Downtown Nashville & Franklin
- What to Order: The Clucker
When it comes to the best places in Nashville for breakfast, you can’t forget Puckett’s! This iconic restaurant chain, with locations across Tennessee, specializes in homegrown recipes and Southern hospitality. If you want an authentic Southern breakfast during your trip to Nashville (think Country Ham & Eggs, Biscuits & Gravy, and Fried Chicken), I recommend stopping at Puckett’s!
I’ve actually yet to visit Puckett’s for breakfast, but I’ve been several times for lunch and dinner (at both locations in the Nashville area!). Several family members have recommended this spot for breakfast, so I feel good about recommending it to you as well. The service is exceptional, and the atmosphere is welcoming.
If you’re looking for a family-friendly restaurant with a casual atmosphere and sit-down service, definitely head to Puckett’s for breakfast in Nashville!
17. The Butter Milk Ranch
- Location: 12 South
- What to Order: Brown Butter Beignets & Croissants
My last recommendation for places to get brunch in Nashville is another spot I have yet to visit, but I’ve wanted to check out for so long: The Butter Milk Ranch! I’ve passed by it so many times while walking around 12 South, and it’s always packed (partially why I haven’t been yet!). It gets excellent ratings, so I know it’s good.
One of the cool things about The Butter Milk Ranch is that it has a sit-down restaurant and a walk-up counter where you can order pastries and coffee (the croissants look amazing!). So, even if you can’t snag a table, you can still stop by to try the best of what this bakery has to offer. However, I have been eyeing the Brown Butter Beignets and Southern Sausage Balls on the table service menu for a while now. I seriously can’t wait to check out this spot on my next trip!

I think it’s pretty safe to say that Nashville has no shortage of fantastic coffee shops and brunch spots to choose from to start the day out right during a trip to Nashville. It’s hard to believe… but this list is just scratching the surface of all the coffee shops and places to get breakfast across Music City!
